Wilderness Survival Preparedness
Wilderness survival preparedness is nothing more than realizing something could happen that would put you in a survival situation and, with that in mind, taking steps to increase your chances of survival. It can happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime. Remember one saying: “Failure to plan is a plan to fail”.
Nothing is more true than in a survival situation. You must take a lot of things into consideration; the weather, the terrain, what gear to take, how to use that gear for more than one task, maps, clothing, shelter and more. As you read this wilderness survival guide you will get the information to answer all those questions.
Wilderness survival preparedness is also making sure that all your equipment is working and working well. Check all seams, gaskets on you stove and filter, make sure the water filter is clean, make sure you boots are broken in, study maps, know where water sources are and make sure your survival kit is up to date and has all the things necessary. There are more things to look at but as stated before all that will be covered later.
Preventative medicine is a major thing that is overlooked all the time. Are your tetanus shots up to date? Do you need your teeth looked at? If you are going out of the country, check to see what diseases are prevalent in that area of the world.
You must include a survival kit. These kits are invaluable when it comes to surviving. It doesn't matter how small or how large, carry one. It could very well save your life.
