Wilderness Survival Guide
This wilderness Survival Guide is designed as a resource for hiking and any other outdoor activity in the wilderness. I will try to give you the information that you need to live through a survival situation until help arrives. Many of the skills and techniques are taken from the U.S. Army Manual but they have been modified and broken down to accommodate hikers and not soldiers.
You will need to learn and practice these techniques in order for them to give you any chance in backcountry survival situations. Reading the articles alone will not teach you how to make a fire, set a trap or anything else unless you practice it. Most of theses techniques sound easy while you read them but in actuality are difficult and take time to learn.
This Wilderness Survival Guide is lengthy and will take some time to go through but it should be read all the way through to help all the pieces fit and help you make decisions on what steps you need to take next if you get into a survival situation.
These skills and techniques that you are about to read are for your knowledge only. They do not nor intend to take the place of professional courses in wilderness survival or first aid.
